Dec 22, 2012 - Haven't written in a while...
Hi everyone, What a great time I'm having on this expedition. I've been meaning to write but I've been so focused on keeping control and command of my ship, I've barely gotten a chance to sit down during the day. Today, I made a stop in Luanda, Angola and what an amazing and peaceful one it was. This was a rich, sea-port city where I had caught many fish along its banks. I also found a couple men willing to aid in fixing a few problems with my ship's interior. I'm looking to go at an even faster pace in order to reach Cape Town.

Dec 12, 2006 - Angola - Luanda
We arrived here yesterday and I have had a very good first impression of the City. Immediately things were made easier because Marco's cousins, Rosa and Ica came to pick us up from the airport. They helped bypass some of the red tape after immigration. We are staying at Tia Linda's house in the centre of Luanda. The house is lovely and in this blistering heat, the air con is a saviour! It is fairly safe to walk around on our own, just as long as we do not carry any valuables with us. This means that photo's of Angola may take a while to...

Mar 7, 2005 - Pothole Mania Angolan Style Part 2.....
After 4 eventful days in Luanda we headed off along the coast towards Lubango.Like the rest of Angola this part of the country is very sceinic.angola has been one of the more pleasant on the eyes countries scenery wise that we have been through.South of Luanda was no exception. We travelled along a winding tarmac road that hugged the coast.Passing by various islands, lagoons and white sandy beaches it's hard to believe that we weren't back in West Africa. Our first destination after leaving Luanda was a place called "Quedas de Agua da...

Feb 14, 2005 - Get Thee To A Nunnery......
Sunny Cabinda,Angola's main oil producing province, was the next stop on the journey southwards.Driving from Point Noire to the border with Cabinda was uneventful apart from the rather large storm that was threatening to blow the truck over. That it only succeded in blowing Debs favourite hat off her head and out the window as we were driving towards the border post and nothing worse than that was a miracle. Crossing the border into Cabinda was hassle free with the only problem being the torrential rain which had now set in for the day.By now...
