Looking for condors in the canyon early in the morning

Another beautiful view of the Andes

We just thought we would send you some photos of the overnight trip we took from Arequipa to Colca Canyon. These ancient people were the ones who taught the Inca's how to do the terracing that helped make them famous. We did do several hikes in the high altitude to help us get ready for the trek to Machu Picchu. The coca leaves and tea help us adjust to the high altitude.

We also got up early in the morning and went to a location to spot condors. We were lucky because it only took us about 10 minutes of waiting before the nesting birds began flying. We are moving very quickly from location to location. We have just arrived back in Arequipa for the night, but fly out tomorrow to Cusco.
