Tonight's park is another of our half price camping parks, and is very nice (some aren't) with paved roads, a nice pool and large sites. We parked and plugged in and I put in a load of laundry before we walked around the park to check it out. It is on a lake, and has a few rental docks for boats, but they are only for fishing - no waterskiing on this lake, it is half full of tree stumps! We met a couple who are full time RVers (in a brand new Dutch Star motorhome) and have been on the road the last 7 years. They were in Nova Scotia this summer (as well as the other Maritime provinces) and really enjoyed it, and want to come back to spend more time in Lunenburg. This is a winter destination park, so there are all sorts of activities. We lucked out, ice cream social tonight, for which we showed up an hour early - we crossed a time zone without noticing!
This park is equipped with working WiFi, and we now have cell phone service, so we called a park in Mississippi to make sure we could get in tomorrow night, and were told they only are keeping a few sites open, so we had to make a reservation. They are full of contractors and builders who are working in the area repairing hurricane damaged buildings, so it is a good thing we called. The one downside of traveling on the smaller roads is that there aren't as many parks or services, so it requires a bit of planning ahead. We can overnight in Walmarts but Mike prefers a park if the price is right.
