We spent today on the famous Bondi Beach and very nice it was too.

Our not so nice hostel was advertised as just 50m from the beach. Being a Saturday we were treated to the beach scene in all its glory. Just getting to the beach was an eye opener. Countless Sydneyites were putting themselves through there paces along the coastal paths. The mere effort of walking in the baking sun meant all I wanted to do was find my bit of beach and let the ocean breeze cool me down.

But first we had to walk past the home of the Bondi Icebergs (hardcore swimmers who started off swimming in the ocean every weekend of the year and now have an outdoor pool right on the sea front). All those men in tight swimmers with BONDI written accross there buttocks. Such a shame we had forgotten the camera.

Once on the beach it was Danny's turn to ogle at the hundreds of women bathing topless. A taste of what we will find in Brazil! The ocean was filled with surfers and this was all to a backdrop of hip hop music coming from a nearby dance competition and the occasional round of applause from the kids at the skatepark who had drawn quite a crowd of there own.

In the evening we met Toby (Danny's friend from Rugby). The evening stretched into the morning witout anyone noticing. Darling Harbour by night was a real highlight. Danny lost himself in the music at Bungalow 8 as I chatted with Toby and Jemma. Walking along the harbour parties and gatherings were kicking off on the yachts moored there. Crawled into bed at 7am with very good intentions to get up and check out for 10am.

Day 244 complete.
