Happy Birthday to me!
The LP said that the journey to Miri involved 4 buses and made it sound like a nightmare, it turned out to be 5 buses and a ferry but for all that the trip was a breeze all of the bus and bus-station staff were helpfull, at every change someone told me where to go and which bus to get. There was a fantastic customs sign on the Malay side of the border which has so many funnies that I had to photograph it and will post it on the site. I think that I may be the first person to export whisky out of Brunei but there was a duty free allowance on the signs.
Miri is a bit of a nothing place, pleasant but nothing to see or do, it's the gateway to a couple of the national parks and I'm heading to one tomorrow with some big caves. It's raining here now but nothing new there.
