Today is the last cruise day! Tomorrow, early morning, we will be back in Genoa and will return home. But we still have a day at sea to enjoy.
After breakfast we visited the upper decks, where people sun bath and swim. There is also a sort of water park with slides and drops… I would have enjoyed a walk on the Himalayan bridge but it was closed (fortunately, Laura says).
We took a few pictures of our deck; each deck has the name of a famous painter and replicas of his works decorate the aisles … but these paintings have a Grandiosa twist. Deck 14 is dedicated to Magritte; probably his most famous painting is the ‘Son of man’ (the guy with the green apple on his face): we have two arrangements of that painting: one similar to the original but with a Grandiosa ship in the background and another one where the guy behind the apple is replaced by the ship. Very ingenious!
Time to pack … we have to put our luggage outside the stateroom before midnight, so it can be transferred to the terminal before we disembark. We realized that, differently from our US cruises, here we don’t have carry on baggage where to put last things we use in the night… we had to purchase a bag, as additional souvenir!
We had last dinner in the usual restaurant; fortunately tomorrow we eat at home… we are becoming too fat!
After dinner we had the last special effects on the Galleria Grandiosa dome, this time it was like the Cappella Sistina; then we went to the theater for the last show: Voyage Fantastic, a mix of songs, dances and magic. A nice way to finish our cruise… by the way, we have already booked the next one!
