four vans at the Withcott Farm

time for another cuppa and chat

Sun 4th October - Moonie to Withcott

Withcott does not show on the map Manager so we show the overnight destination as Toowoomba

Our last destination before home awaits us. We got away at 9:00am from the Crossroads for the short hour and quarter run to Dalby where we found a spot to park 3 vans in line before going across the road to Maccas for morning tea. Afterwards their was need for some shopping (groceries and Target) - there’s always a need for some shopping!! Back to the park for a quick sandwich under a very large very shady tree before heading off to Withcott.

(BTW - did you know that Maccas will give seniors a FREE regular cappuccino with the purchase of something extra?) So JnR had a coffee, a hot chocolate and a muffin, all for $3.50 - how scroogey is that)

Back on the road, through Toowoomba, and down the range to Withcott at the bottom where our friend Arthur’s forebears had a farm. 49 acres of which is now owned by their son. Arthur and Verna leave their caravan on site and come up often for Arthur to putter around on the farm, doing a bit of slashing and reliving the memories of a bygone era. It’s a pleasure to share some time with them in their home-ground. We have no power here and have to be self contained.
