Fri 2nd October - in Roma
7:20 - what a ridiculous time to be out when on a relaxing holiday. Terry drove down town with me to drop off the Prado and we were home 15mins later. Conveniently they were done by 10:30 and it was time to be dropped down again to get the Prado, bring it back, hitch up the van, take it down to PTW, check out the wiring, fit a new Anderson plug and check voltages with/without car, and voltages with/without the frig on battery. Ron was there for an hour while Jan went for a walk a block away to check out some shops. Took the van back to the Gun Club and unhitch and set it all up again. Good way to fill in the morning until lunch time.
After lunch we all did our own thing so Jan and I made a list and headed off to the following - - The big windmill, the largest bottle tree in Roma, the avenue of Bottle trees planted as memorial to past Roma war service participants with plaques at the base of each tree (it extends for about three city blocks), ACE Drapers the shop with the most enormous collection of materials and drapery items you can imagine, a 3D mural inside the civic centre complete with narration and floodlit highlights as explanation of the contents of the mural, a trip 4km out north towards Injune to find a letterbox Ron wanted to photograph. We finished off the afternoon by all six meeting up at the Big Rig in time for the Night Show 5:00-6:20 then all out to dinner at the Club Hotel in town and back to the c’van park. Ron 'n Jan diverted to fuel and groceries before heading back.
