Ed & Marilyn 'The Happy Wanderers' travel blog

I experienced one of those nights that had very little sleep. In spite of that I was up by 6:30 this morning and had the coffee on by the time my sweet little gnome arrived and joined me in the sunroom.

As we shared our coffee we spoke on the phone with my sister-in-law who lives in a suburb of Washington, DC. It was good to catch up with the family status and we enjoyed the conversation. Sometimes we wish we all lived closer and could visit more often.

I skipped breakfast in order to complete the normal chores in time for the drive into town where my first stop was at the Barber Shop for a much needed haircut.

Freshly trimmed of the hair which was long enough to irritate my ears, I drove off to do the grocery shopping. I did make one stop to gas up the car at a cost of $1.69 per gallon.

The grocery shopping took long enough that I was quite hungry by the time I returned home. "Starving like unto death" I declared, which worked like a charm as my sweet little gnome fixed a nice lunch of salmon patties, mashed potatoes, jello, and applesauce.

We have baseball on our agenda this evening. The team Colby plays on has a double-header scheduled, beginning around 5:30.

Later: It wasn't good as the kids lost both games. I told them as we left "Keep your heads up guys, You have Fans". At least they smiled.
