My sweet little gnome and I shared our morning coffee as we chatted about our schedule today. Yesterday I had a shot for my hip pain and looked forward to taking a walk today to check out the pain level, but first I had to get an X-Ray at the Hannibal Clinic.
Marilyn & I had completed most of the chores when I left for the short drive to the Clinic. Just as I pulled into a parking space, Denny called, so we visited for a bit as Denny related his ongoing battle with a Racoon. I was still laughing as I walked to the clinic. They checked my temperature and asked some questions as part of the Covid-19 screening, and then put a sticker on my shirt signifying that I was properly screened before being allowed to enter.
A very nice young Technician named Sylvia soon invited me back to the X-Ray room and it wasn't long before I was finished and on my way back home.
Marilyn & I took a walk of a half mile and I felt fine, which made me happy for sure.
Alas, my high spirits were dampened by a phone call from the Doctor's office informing me that the X-Ray showed severe osteoarthritis in my left hip. They suggested that we enjoy a trip we have planned and then contact an orthopaedic surgeon for a possible hip replacement.
At this time I'm not sure what to do about that because I am 80 years old and don't feel that a hip replacement at my age is going to be worth the trouble.
For now I will simply enjoy life as it exists for me and face whatever comes around when that time comes.
For me, Life is Good!
