After a long long drive we reached Kaikoura. Kaikoura is a small village famous for its dolphin, whale and seal encounters. It has a lovely snow capped mountain background and a beach front.
The dolphin encounter is popular so is best booked in advance so we had booked many days in advance.
We had a look at the seal colony and then visited a sheep shearing display, where there were little lambs and a big old ram called ramman ! It was interesting enough and had to be done while we were in NZ.
The next day we got up early to go and swim with the dolphins. Unfortunately the tour was canceled though as the seas were too rough. Nothing we could do about it ! so we got in the car and headed down to Christchurch.
