We say a fond farewell to our lovely home for the last few days and start on our next journey to Elsamere. http://elsamere.com
Unless we want to go over the very long & bumpy road over the Aberdare mountains we need to head north past the equator and around and south to Lake Naivasha.
The ride was mostly uneventful and we made a few stops along the way for lunch and a ATM, pharmacy stop.
We arrived at Elsamere just before the end of High Tea, and sat down immediately. What an absolutely beautiful setting and the cottages are marvellous! While having tea the Colobus monkeys swing from branch to branch just overhead and make the most incredible guttural noises!
Before long it is dinner time and we gather back into the dining room, which wasJoy Adamson’s actual dining area. The furniture is the original and Val sat in Joy’s place at the table.
Bernard, the GM of Elsamere sat at our table and we had interesting conversations with him. We felt very privileged!
I am feeling under the weather so head to bed early - several of us have tummy issues to some degree.
The beds are comfy and it is a nice sleep.
