(Entry by Lois)
On March 8, John & I will be leaving town for 3 1/2 weeks, taking two tours with Road Scholar, one to Costa Rica and the other to Cuba. The basic itinerary is flying from Traverse City to San Jose (via Chicago and Charlotte), where the first tour begins. We will arrive one day early so that we have a bit of a cushion in case there's a problem with flights. That tour will end on March 19, when we'll fly to Miami to meet up with the Cuba group.
UPDATE POSTED LATER IN MARCH: THE CUBA TRIP GOT CANCELED DUE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, AND THE COSTA RICA TRIP GOT CUT SHORT BY TWO DAYS.
After a night near the Miami airport, we'll head to Cuba (via Port-au-Prince Haiti). The US government has made it difficult to travel directly to Cuba (though our program is allowed to go since it is licensed under "Support for the Cuban People"). We will travel the length of the island and return directly from Havana to Miami on April 2, and head for home from there. Whew!
Stay tuned for our new adventure!
P.S. Here are the links to the programs, in case you want more details now.
