Jan 19 Barbados

Fun fact:  Barbados is named after the bearded fig trees found on the island.  This coral island is known for its white sand beaches and warm people.

We arrived in Bridgetown, Barbados around 6:30 am.  The ship had to be what I call, parallel parked, as there was a ship they had to back around and another on the other side.  It's pretty hot again. We've been here before, so we just walked around in the port area. It was pretty busy there with a Celebrity ship and one other docked when we arrived.  There was free wifi in the cruise terminal, but so many people that we couldn't connect. There was also data service but it was international. Jim got a message from Sprint that he could make phone calls for 25 cents a minute.  I bought a diet pepsi in the cruise terminal. It was only $1.50 for a 20 ounce bottle. That's less than in the US! After lunch we went up to the Serenity Deck. The hot tub was pretty hot since the weather was so hot (80's) but we stayed in awhile.  I read for a bit after Jim went back to our cabin. It was nice as long as I stayed in the shaded part of the cabana. The sun was quite fierce with very few clouds around. They were showing Downton Abbey on the big screen even though it wasn't on the agenda.  I watched the end of it. They washed our balconies today. Late this afternoon and this evening, they were showing NFL playoffs on the big screen. Jim went to watch it before and after dinner. We were a little late leaving, as it took longer than expected to refuel.  They just announced that we will arrive in St. Kitts sometime after 9 and be docked etc around 10. It's supposed to be sunny and in the 80s. Our dinner choice was was fried chicken. Jim had chilled peach bisque and Prosciutto Ruffles for an appetizer. I had the bisque and a delicious ricotta cheese filled canneloni.  Both were delicious. I only ate part of the bisque as it's very rich, but I always have to have a little as they are so good. I went to the first comedy show. He was pretty good. I then went to the stage show. Mark Preston has a nice voice, but I left after a few minutes as it wasn't that entertaining.
