|We left our wonderful cruise ship this morning around 9:30 and ventured off to our Sofitel Hotel in Budapest. The cruise manager Nick did a fantastic job of getting all of his 120 passengers off on time and no hitches. He was great and very entertaining the whole trip.
The Sofitel Hotel is a beautiful hotel sitting on the Danube, next to the Four Seasons and has fantastic views of the river and historic buildings across the river. We had great room and magnificent views. The hotel is a French owned line…and their Christmas decorations theme was Fashion. Wonderful white mannequins sitting on the inner balcony railings “dressed” in Christmas lights.
We were too early to check in….so took off for a local walking tour in our area…along the Danube, major parks, a Christmas Market with a stop for a latte, and of course….an over-the-top chocolate cake. Then lunch in the hotel restaurant and checked in.
Some time to enjoy our views of the Danube and get a little organized, Martha had to change rooms, and then a lovely dinner at a local restaurant close by, enjoying the local wine and food.
