Today is Thanksgiving Day. I know that you are scattered around the country but I wish you all the best and that you have a wonderful time with whoever you may be spending the day with. I hope that during the festivities that you take some time to reflect on all of the things we have to be thankful for. Take a break from all of the political bickering and drama and just enjoy spending time with each other.

We’ve been parked in Stillwater, Oklahoma visiting our son since October 9th and we’ve enjoyed our visit but it’s time for us to pack-up and get ready to head farther south. We’ll be leaving on Monday, December 2nd and begin making our way to our winter leased lot at the Escapee Saguaro Co-Op RV Park near Benson, Arizona but first we plan to spend some time in the Texas Hill Country exploring a bit. We like that area and are always looking for a place to establish a home base that we can use to spend time at to rest up from our travels, a place where we will eventually settle down when we decide to give up traveling and exploring in our RV. That time for us has not yet come but we want to be prepared for it when the time is right. Since we like the Texas Hill Country we wanted to explore that area a bit more just to see if it could be the right area for us.

Thanksgiving marks the beginning of the holiday season unless you are a retailer. They’ve been trying to convince us that the holiday season began a long time ago. My son and I had a brief chat with a Walmart employee this morning and she told that the first Christmas Tree had arrived at the Walmart store in August. They didn’t put it our that early but you get the idea. Let’s just take the holidays one day at a time and…you might want to avoid “Black Friday”. I, for one, don’t think it’s worth it.

I did come across a humorous picture that I thought I’d share with you. It makes a lot of sense to me…how about you?
