It’s been a fantastic stay for us at “The Kids” place near Augusta. But, like all good things, this too, must come to an end. It’s time to head west for our three year switch out. We’ll take about 2 weeks (or so) to get to Brenda, AZ, where we’ll spend the rest of the winter.

While we were here, helped out around this 2 1/2 acre property. “The Kids” went on vacation for two weeks and we were tasked with taking care of their dog, Rex and all things in the house and on the grounds. So that meant, We took care of the lawns, 1 1/2 acres with many trees, the equipment and repairing some landscaping stuff left undone by an unscrupulous guy hired to detail the landscaping work. We shoveled sand to fill holes left years ago by fallen trees, the sand will allow grass to grow up through it. Early on we took in a baseball game at the local AAA team the Augusta Green Jackets. A group of locals on the street invited us to join us each Friday evening for group dinner. And so, we kept very busy the entire 6 weeks. As we prepare to depart, we find that there were things we didn’t get to accomplish. For several weeks, there was unseasonably hot weather 10 days well over 100 degrees, those days we worked outside til about 10 or 11 then retreated inside for coolness and, thereby limited our working outside. One night we were invited to a party being hosted by friends of the kids, it was a Hot Ones party. Setup with authentic Hot Ones hot sauces each one have a “Heat Index” listed just like the You Tube show. A big tray of chicken nuggets was available for everyone to dip a nugget into the chosen sauce. Rebecca is proud to say she made it up to the #5 sauce. Dave made it upto #9 then tapped out, he was sweating profusely.

So, as was said before, we’ve had a fun and active six weeks. Keep following us as we continue on down the roads of this great land called America....
