Lully, Lyon, Le Lot, L’Atlantique and lots more... travel blog

View from our shower skylight in Cahors

Tom contemplates, will he carry out Pauline’s heavy bags or his light...

Cahors’ famous bridge

That’s the direction we are riding down the Lot

Tom watches the people below the bridge struggle to release the lock...

We leave via the narrow alleyways of Cahors

Vineyards and castles along the way

The grapevines were laden ( and Tom couldn’t help picking a bunch...

Plenty of bridges across the Lot

I like the strong msg to pick up after your dog

The route marking was excellent and only a handful of cars passed...

You know you’re in France !

Lovely views along the river

Wegead into town for dinner, sans helmet

My gravlax starter

My fruit mousse dessert

- did a bit of exploring around Cahors before breakfast in a little bar ( which ended with a fist fight between 2 patrons at 11am - we left soon after!)

- mostly quiet roads again today

- passed many walnut orchards and vineyards

- Eventually stopped for lunch at a picnic table beside the river around 3pm!!

- Had a challenge finding our B&B in Prayssac as the old lady owner insisted on giving loose directions rather than a street name and house number. But eventually found her and it was a lovely spacious accommodation with our bikes stored in the garage

- Rode back into town (without helmets!!) for dinner.

- almost everything closed on Sun night but eventually found a restaurant. Luckily it had quite nice food.

- Chilly ride home at 9pm
