We were lucky enough to get a tour inside Buckingham Palace today. Unfortunately there are no cameras allowed inside the Palace, but we went into The Quadrangle, The Grand Staircase, The Throne Room, The Green Drawing Room, and many more. We saw a lot of beautiful old art, historic thrones, and lots of other historic Royal pieces. It was a truly amazing experience. Logan thought it was "really cool", and Xavier said "it was awesome". We had lunch at the Palace, and each enjoyed a beautiful raspberry macaroon after lunch. We then went into the Family Pavillion where the kids dressed up, and had a bit of fun. We took a look at the Palace shop (and picked up a couple souviniers) and went for a walk through the gardens, where we enjoyed an ice cream.
After leaving Buckingham Palace we made our way to St. Paul's Cathedral, which used to be the tallest structure in London. The tallest structure is currently The Shard.
Today is the last day that the 10 of us are in London together. Tomorrow we begin to head north. Phil and Josh headed out to pickup our car, while the others went to see Salvos IHQ. Unfortunately the place was closed already at 4.15 so they couldn't get in
This evening we headed back into walk along the Thames and enjoy London by night again. We were hoping to go on the London Eye, however it closed at 6 o'clock. We were amazed that it was not open to see London's night skyline.
