We'd had enough walking around Coimbra. Today we'd get an overview of city and university on the hop-on/hop-off bus. Afterwards the ticket included a cruise on the Rio Mondego.
The most noteworthy sight in Coimbra is the Biblioteca Joanina, the university library built in 1717. I regret I didn't include a good photo of one of the most beautiful libraries in the world. It is filled with 2-story bookcases that hold 250,000 volumes.
The bus also took us past the 75-acre botanical gardens with 50 species of eucalyptus trees.
