Sunrise in Cape Town

Gateway to our hotel

City building, Cape Town

Day 3. Friday 16/8/19. Cape Town

After a good nights sleep, I woke at 7.30am to a beautiful sunrise. Ian slept on. Enjoyable breakfast at 9, then back to our room and I did some catch up diary and Ian slept till after 2pm. Had a lazy day.....think age is telling with the jet lag business!

We walked through Company’s Gardens opposite our hotel, where we saw squirrels, Government buildings, slave bell and statues of Cecil Rhodes and Jan Smuts. We had a bite to eat and thanks Heather for giving me the thumbs up about Africans and time.....just as well we weren’t in a hurry!!!!!

We continued on to town and into the main square where there were markets. Like most markets, all selling the same things, and we understand they’re here every day. Made a couple of purchases, then made our way back to the hotel. It was a long walk but enjoyable.

Meeting with our Tour Director, and he was very happy to tell us that there are only 10 on our tour - easy for him and good for us. We had dinner in the Bar area and fortunately were advised to share a club sandwich which we did, and even then I couldn’t eat all mine! Huge and beautiful.... A single member of the tour joined us, which was good to have time to get to know him.
