Herb & Ginger's RV Travel Adventures travel blog

An experiment (the fish) but turned out great

Today (Saturday) started with blueberry pancakes using the berries we picked yesterday. We toured to the end of the road which was closed the other day when we were out there. On a clear day there would be spectacular views of Denali, the AK Range and the Wrangells. The rest of the day, a warm and sunny one, consisted of R&R and a minor project on the trailer.

We woke to light rain on Sunday. We packed up after breakfast, hooked up and headed down the road. With the clouds, we didn’t expect to see many of the mountains but some of the Chugach and Talkeetna Mtns were visible. We arrived back at Northern Nights RV Park (3rd time here) in Glennallen around 1:00. It is partly cloudy, around 70 and no bugs. We actually haven’t had much for insects for a while now. The rain we have had has reduced the danger of forest fires and must have helped with existing fires. We actually just got a FLOOD warning alert – not for here but north of the AK range. Dinner at home tonight – “Herb’s Pecan-encrusted Alaskan Rockfish” and Ginger’s excellent roasted cauliflower. YUM!
