Before I retired I was pretty meticulous planner. That was part of a successful career in aviation. However, after retirement I became sort of a casual planner so the “comedy of errors” resulted as we drove to Monroe City to have Marilyn’s car registered and licensed in the state of Missouri. I thought we might as well go ahead and obtain our Missouri Driver’s Licenses while we were at it. With no more planning than that, we headed out to accomplish our goal for the day. Ha!
We discovered after arriving at the License Office that we needed a vehicle inspection, a statement from the courthouse saying that we owed no back taxes, and either a title or the address of the lienholder.
We had none of those things so we thought we would come back the next day, but we should go ahead and get our driver’s license. Ha!
We needed our birth certificates or passports, our Texas driver’s license (Hey, We have those!) and two official letters, bills, etc with our new address on them.
With no new licenses we drove home, shared a bite of lunch and then greeted our daughter and grandchildren when they arrived for a visit, along with “Stubby” the puppy.
We played games and served up ice cream for the kids before saying goodbye for a while, promising to meet them at Colby’s first football practice of the season.
After two hours of practice we headed home to watch some TV before going off to bed for a good night of sleep. It was a good day because Life is Good!
