|Sunday 7 July
Nearing our next destination, anchored off one of the tributaries.
We’ve enjoyed the Rhone but must say at times the scenery has been a bit boring – just when you think you’re going to have a nice view a power station or other industry pops into view – I guess it is a working river after all, and to add to our emotions it has been extremely hot.
Monday 8 July
Just a short hop, through another lock and then into the marina where No. 1 will be for a while.
Met some wonderful people in the afternoon – our boat neighbours are Danish and Norwegian who live in the UK but have stayed in this marina for 4 years now. They were ever so helpful – drove us to the supermarket, which is quite a distance away, where we could pick up some wine. Then after that they invited us on board for G&T’s which was great.
As we are leaving the boat there we had some food in the freezer which we didn’t want to throw out so we gave it to the French chap next door to our neighbours. He then invited us on board for a couple of glasses of wine.
What a lovely evening.
