Day 41, June 27

This morning we went to the North Pole, North Pole AK that is. It is a little town about 10 miles south of Fairbanks. The Santa Claus House is there. It is a christmas store chocked full of christmas stuff. After walking through the entire store I felt fortunate to escape without Dianna buying anything. Then it was off to Eielson AFB which is another 10 miles down the highway for a resupply of some needed items from the commisary. Tonight we went to the Golden Heart Revue, a show at Pioneer Park. The park has a recreation of a gold rush town, historic exhibitions, and a salmon bake dinner.

Day 42, June 28

Today is supposed to be a pretty nice sunny day with a high in the mid 80s. This morning we went on the Riverboat Discovery, a stern paddlewheeler that operates on the Chena River. It was a nice ride down the river ending in a recreation of an eskimo village. There we saw demonstrations of how they lived. After being alone in the trailer for 5 hours the doggies were really happy to see us return. We will make it up to them in the afternoon by taking them for a nice walk. It is now mid afternoon and the temp outside is 82 and we needed to turn on the AC as the inside temp was 86. This is the first time we have run the AC in weeks.
