I realize that we haven’t posted a journal entry for several days. First, the internet service here has been so lacking that it has been difficult to post anything. We have been so busy packing, sorting, and getting ready to move that we are worn out by the time we go to bed around eleven at night. That is past my normal bedtime and yesterday our realtor commented that I looked tired.
Here’s our status right now. We have purchased a home about 10 miles from Hannibal. Our RV is sold and some very nice folks will be here tomorrow evening, to take the RV to its new home on Friday. What that means to us is that we have to move out and have things in very nice, clean and neat condition for the new owners.
We rented a U-Haul van and have been busy loading it with tubs of our belongings. Today we are allowed to move in to the new home and will pay a rent for the few days until we close on the purchase.
Colby’s baseball team continues their winning ways but ran into a tough, talented team on Monday. They were behind for the first time this season, but finally won the game by a score of 12 to 8. We had a drive of just over an hour to get home after the game ended but it was a fun game to watch. Last night they played in Monroe City and won by a score of 15 to 6. They play again tonight but we will miss this game.
Marilyn & I plan to pretty much have things empty here in the RV by the end of the day today. Several of the fine young men who work here at the Cave, have agreed to follow us to our new home and unload the truck for us. We also have my truck bed full of tubs and the car is loaded also. We won’t have furniture in the house until Friday. No TV and no Wi-Fi so if you don’t see another journal entry for a few days, please be patient because we will be back.
I’ll keep you all advised and remember, Life is Good!
