Our spot at the municipal campground

The view of the campground from our spot

After our 2 beautiful nights on the Missouri River, we set off for a 1 night stopover in Adrian, MN. Our drive was once again traveled to the local NPR station and we learned even more about the impact of the flooding and we looked at he farmland more closely. Farmers are doing what they can waiting for the land to dry out. A lot of land has been prepped for planting but the “puddles” are in the way. Planting is increasing but is still way behind. Then there is the whole crop insurance issue. Whether you planted too early and can’t claim or you have to declare lost time and therefore can’t plant – or something like that…..

Adrian, MN is a small town pretty close to the state line. They used to use their city park as a place for folks to plant a Hospice Tree for loved ones who passed away. They ended up with a lot of trees that provide great shade. So, about 10 years ago they decided to build a campground among the trees and they did a fabulous job. The campground is adjacent to the town swimming pool and several ball fields. Even though it looks like it is away from it all, the interstate is just beyond the trees. It is a great stop for travelling RVers and they have some folks that stay for months. It was a good spot at a good price,

We are off to Minneapolis.
