Ed & Marilyn 'The Happy Wanderers' travel blog

I was leading a tour today but spent the usual morning with my Honey sharing our coffee before taking my shower and dressing in my “cave man suit”.

The tour consisted of 17 third grade students and nine adults, one a teacher and the others were parents. The group all seemed to enjoy the tour and I was fine with the results. I walked home after the tour and made a quick plan to have lunch with Denny & Jackie. They wanted to try a place in Palmyra called “Hats” so we drove the scenic route and ended at a restaurant called Hats.

Marilyn and Jackie both ordered a fish sandwich which they agreed was quite good. Denny and I opted for a special hamburger called, what else, a Hats Burger. These were a half pound of ground beef with cheese, mushrooms, crispy onion rings, and assorted goodies like pickles, lettuce, tomato, etc.

We were stuffed when we left and became couch potatoes when we arrived at the RV. We were meeting a group of our friends at 5:00, even though none of the four of us was even a bit hungry.

Bill & Deb, Bob & Janet, Steve & Cathy, along with Denny & Jackie and Marilyn & I gathered at “Fiddlesticks” right at 5:00 PM. After exchanging hugs we went inside and were soon seated where the chatter, laughter, and great feelings of camaraderie were constant.

The arrival of food calmed the chatter, fun and laughter only slightly as the fun continued. We hope to make this get-together a weekly gathering because Life is Good!
