Ed & Marilyn 'The Happy Wanderers' travel blog

Before going to bed last night I went outdoors and disconnected the water hose due to the forecast of a hard freeze. I heard the furnace run numerous times during the night. We aren’t used to hearing that sound after spending the winter in the Rio Grande Valley.

We woke at 8:00 this morning and shared our coffee before the outdoor temperature was high enough to reconnect the water supply. Marilyn fixed a nice breakfast of bacon & eggs and I helped with the dishes after we finished that tasty meal.

I was determined to get our satellite TV working today and the beautiful day with bright sunshine tempted me to get outdoors. Although the temperature remained no higher than 50 degrees I set up the satellite DISH and soon had things working except for the local channels. A phone call to DISH soon solved that issue and we were able to watch some of the March Madness.

We slipped out at halftime to grab a hamburger and a shake which we took home. We were back in plenty of time to watch the games and they were great fun to watch if you enjoy college basketball. The first game went into overtime and the second game was nip and tuck with the lead changing hands numerous times.

It was a fine day but we still would rather be in Hannibal where we could see and spend time with our family. Life is Good!
