Things were going so well this morning as we prepared to leave Fredericksburg for the trip to Fort Griffin.
The only item remaining was to raise the landing gear and that was when Marilyn made the comment that things were so easy this morning. The landing gear failed to move even though we could hear the motor running.
I made a quick call to Slade at Rolling Retreats and he guided me through several steps and we had the landing gear retracted.
The road was good all the way with four lanes in some areas, and the trip took four hours which included a stop for fuel. We were parked and set up by 2:00 PM. When we registered we were asked if either of us was over 65 years of age and when I answered in the affirmative we were charged only $6 for camping one night.
Marilyn & I left the RV connected to the truck, choosing not to attempt lowering the landing gear. Slade will replace the defective solenoid when he does the maintenance on Wednesday.
We did sit outdoors in the sunshine with a cold drink and then went inside where Marilyn fixed a nice dinner before we relaxed with a DVD movie on TV.
Tomorrow we move on north to Elk City, Oklahoma. Life is Good!
