Ed & Marilyn 'The Happy Wanderers' travel blog

Marilyn & I slept in this morning and then sat together sipping our coffee as we watched people around us pulling out of the RV Park.

Marilyn began fixing breakfast just as my cell phone rang. The call was from longtime friends Jim & Linda who live about an hour away. They suggested that we should have lunch together and said they would drive over to see us. They drove to our RV Park and we visited for about an hour before we left in separate trucks for the drive into town.

We parked behind the “Auslander” German restaurant. Auslander means outsider or tourist in German and is billed as a “Biergarten”. We chose to eat inside on this cool, gray, overcast day. Linda selected the Cabbage Wraps with mashed potatoes and green beans, Marilyn opted for a grilled chicken sandwich with German Potato Salad, but Jim and I both selected a Reuben Sandwich with a side of German Potato Salad. All four of us chose a beer from the extensive list.

After lunch we drove east to the interesting place called the “Wild Seed Farm” where we walked around while the ladies took pictures. Jim and I found some peach ice cream and sat at a table outdoors waiting for the ladies to join us.

We shared hugs and wishes for safe travels with our friends and waved as we drove off in separate directions.

Marilyn & I stopped to fuel the truck and then continued home. We are in no hurry to leave tomorrow as we have only about 200 miles to go. Life is Good!
