An early start today to get to the airport for our first flight to Singapore. Flying Air Singapore this time and the food, service and entertainment was good. We were expecting about a three hour wait for our connection but on arrival found the connecting flight would be delayed. Funny how when you have plenty of time the connecting flight is late, but when you have little time the first flight arrives late.
Anyhow, Changi airport is one of the better airports to spend a few hours – plenty of food options, quiet spots, or just take the train between terminals.
The flight to Kathmandu was with Silkair and service and food nowhere near as good – guess you get what you pay for. Arrived around 10pm local time. Quickly through immigration and then line up to go through x ray machine where everyone buzzed but no one was checked... Luggage took a fair while to come through, but always a relief to spot your bag. Actually there was a luggage jam a couple of times on the conveyors, which I unjammed, didn't look like anyone else was going to and I just wanted to get our bags.
Bit chaotic outside the airport, but managed to find the driver we had booked for transfer to hotel. Hotel looks good and room had the first two essentials – plenty of hot water and good mattress. Figured we have been going for 24 hours now. Goodnight.
