Ed & Marilyn 'The Happy Wanderers' travel blog

It was a hot day with the temperatures reaching to the mid-nineties. Bright sunshine and little to no wind made it feel even hotter. It was a great day for a picnic, right?

Marilyn joined Marian, Ginger, and Jan for a girls day out. They went out for lunch together and had a good time. While Marilyn was gone I worked to get our RV lot & coach house placed in the rental pool for next season here at Retama Village.

Denny & Jackie and John & Lori arrived at our place where we had agreed to meet before going to the picnic. Marilyn & I took our own car so we could pick up Karen. Jim, Karen’s husband, was working at the picnic area, parking cars.

The picnic was an Open House for the shooting range, and an opportunity to show off the vast improvements made such as the installation of sun screens for shade over the shooters as well as the people watching.

Granted it was still hot there but much cooler under the sun screens than out in the sun. The picnic was nice with hamburgers, pulled pork, chicken wraps, baked beans, chips, cole slaw, and a variety of cookies. There were several special guests who received a warm reception.

So another fine day here in the valley fades into history and leaves us with the feeling that Life is Good!
