Winter2019 travel blog

Headed out in fog along I-10 to Gulfport, MS. We have never stayed here before and stayed at Boomtown Casino RV Park. This was an ok park with interesting entry procedures. Unfortunately we were right on the Gulf but we had fog for three days so couldn't see much. It didn't stop us from "visiting" the casino where Dale and I actually walked away with money.

Gulfport is known for its long beach on the Mississippi Sound of the Gulf of Mexico. It is the second largest city in Mississippi after the state capital of Jackson. It was incorporated in 1898 and shares the county seat of Harrison County with Biloxi, MS. It is home to the US Navy Atlantic Fleet Seabees. Gulfport has been hit by Hurricane Camille (Cat. 5) in 1969 and again by Katrina (Cat. 3) in August 2005.
