I slept poorly last night and woke later than normal feeling more tired that when I went to bed.
Marilyn & I were still sharing our coffee when we received a text message from friends Denny & Jackie asking if we would like to go see a movie titled “The Mule”. We had wanted to see that movie so we quickly agreed to meet them at the theater.
We drove in to the parking lot at the same time as our friends and parked side by side.
The movie was really good once you get by the fact that it is about drug traffic. We didn’t realize that it was based on an actual 90 year old “Mule” who was arrested some years ago. The song at the end of the movie was especially touching. It was called “Don’t let the old man in” and is about growing old. It asks the question about how old would you act if you didn’t know when you were born and encourages us to love our wife and our friends, to get outside and enjoy life, and don’t let the old man in.
After the movie we drove to Ranch House Burgers to join our friends again for a really good hamburger.
We weren’t finished as we still had to shop for groceries which required a drive to HEB to shop. We came home with everything we had on the list except for Milk, which was the primary reason for the trip. Bummer!
Oh well, Life is Good!
