Ed & Marilyn 'The Happy Wanderers' travel blog

You might think that awaking after ten hours of sleep, we would feel fresh and full of energy but instead of that I felt groggy and just wanted to go back to bed.

Marilyn & I completed all of our usual chores and made a shopping list but decided to wait until tomorrow to go shopping for groceries.

We left the RV a bit before 3:00 PM and drove to Dyer’s Nursery in Weslaco. We plan to purchase a small “bottle brush” plant called Little John and were told that the end of February would be a good time and they would have plenty of them in at that time.

We then drove to the Holiday Inn Express where several of my High School classmates were staying overnight. Soon we joined Don, Sharon, Sherry, and Les (Son of Don & Sharon) in a room and visited for the next hour or so just catching up on the lives of one another. Sherry and I have been friends for 68 years which is a very long time.

When we were hungry enough, we drove to the Olive Garden where we shared a fine meal and continued our visiting.

We finally parted with shared hugs and hopes of seeing one another again soon. Marilyn & I then drove home on the Expressway and arrived a bit after 7:00.

It’s sure nice to be indoors, warm and dry, with a peaceful quiet evening. The only sounds are of a helicopter patrolling the Rio Grande. Life is Good!
