A Week in Haiti: How it Went travel blog

One of the pieces in the museum

The monument itself is quite different in design compared to most

Today I woke up and immediately headed for Atis Rezistans, an art museum in which there are pieces of art made with both bone and metal. It was really quite the sight, and certainly nothing I'd ever seen in the U.S. Many of the pieces left a sense of curiosity as to what they all meant. I couldn't stay there forever, though. Next I travelled to the bicentennial monument in Port-au-Price; the Cité de l'Exposition. Haiti hosted an international exhibition in 1949 to celebrate its bicentennial. I wonder what the place looked like in 1949. After the monument, I decided I was done for the day, as I decided to use the remainder as my resting time.
