Here we are ending another week in Ranchos Val Vista Resort. Another fun week with new friends to celebrate the Christmas Season with. As much as we missed spending the holidays with our kids, it was a full fun time in Arizona.

Christmas week started off with Joanne and I putting on a Christmas Breakfast for a few of our neighbours. A great time was had by all and everyone of course ate too much and enjoyed a few Bubblies and Special Coffees to end the meal. Weather wise we lucked out at about 24c / 77f which was perfect for cooking and eating outside as this week has been exceptionally cold for Mesa standards. (last night was 4c 39f ouch, bloody cold and hopefully the temps will improve over the next few days)

We spent Christmas dinner with a few neighbours at the Painted Mountain Golf Resort on the outskirts of Mesa. Absolutely incredible Turkey Dinner and exceptional wine. We chatted, laughed, shared stories and eventually closing the restaurant before heading back to Val Vista.

This past Saturday evening Joanne and I took a drive out to Fountain Hills, Arizona ( about 40 mins. from Mesa ) to take in the sights of the Fountain Hills Balloon Glow. A display of lighted Hot Air Balloons --- wow what an incredible sight, about 6 colourful Hot Air Balloons glowing against the backdrop of Fountain Lake and the 500 ft. World Famous Fountain. (everyday viewing the Fountain reaches a height of 330 feet once per hour). We arrived early to enjoy a unique Mexican Dinner at Sofritas Tapas House adjacent to the Balloon Glow display. One of the best chicken tacos we've ever had along with an amazing variety of Bruschetta .

We of course continue with our Bocci and so looking forward to the Bocci Tournament in mid January. We also have a number of other adventures planned and will share photos and stories as they appear.

Have a fabulous and prosperous New Years and continue to keep in touch when you can.

Til next time - enjoy these photos

Joanne and Waine
