At first we had six couples heading to Mexico today, just to have fun together. First, Ken & Kay had to back out of the fun because of a furniture delivery they have been waiting on for some time. Janet & Harlan were unable to join us because of a short hospital stay for Janet. She is fine now and we plan another day in Mexico next Monday. Mike & Dale were doing the right thing by waiting at home for Janet to make it home.
So, Jim & Karen, Denny & Jackie, and Marilyn & I headed out. These six are members of our “Gang of Eight”. Mike & Marian were missing because they are with family up north.
We all had fun today, first at Poncho’s Bar and then at Chuey’s Red Snapper where we enjoyed lunch and the live music.
We picked up some meds before returning to the USA. Oh, one thing we noticed which may be important to those of you who are in the Rio Grande Valley.
There was a notice at the turnstile where we dropped 50 cents to allow us to cross the bridge. The notice advised us that effective Jan1, 2019, the cost to cross the bridge will double to $1.00.
That certainly will not deter us as Mexico is a wonderful place to visit. We enjoy the people, the music, the colorful culture, the food, the margaritas, and the inexpensive Dentist and Pharmacy options.
