Dick & Shirley Davis... great neighbours and no doubt long term friends....

A great evening with fabulous food and great new friends.

We've spent a relatively quiet week in Mesa, our daily Bocci games in the mornings with Bocci again on Thursday evening. Always a great time with usually 30-40 players each time out. We've entered the Val Vista Fun Bocci Tournament with a couple from Ontario, it will be a full day of Bocci Games, Food, Visiting and no doubt the 'odd beverage' throughout the day of Jan. 17th.

We also took in the Val Vista Sales dept. open house. Lots of various size homes for sale and although we gave it a great deal of thought...it's not really for us, as Canadians are only allowed to spend a maximum 182 days in the U.S. it would not be financially viable to purchase a Winter home here. As much as we love it here, having met so many great new friends...Joanne and I are not a fan of travelling to the same place over and over again. We enjoy travelling to new sights around the country and around the world so will continue the way we've always done.

We toured old downtown Chandler, Arizona this past week with our neighbours from Lansing, Michigan. (Tom and Connie Eifert.) Thoroughly enjoyed checking out the shops and the old buildings with unique architecture. Each year the city rebuilds a Christmas Tree made out of Tumbleweed, so cool to see this one of kind Christmas Tree. After shopping and sightseeing for a couple of hours we made a second trip back to Murphy's Law Irish Pub for another round of deelishous Fish n Chips.

Our other neighbours 'Dick and Shirley Davis' invited ourselves along with Tom and Connie to a Lemon BBQ Cedar Plank Salmon Dinner across the street at their home. OMG what an amazing dinner, great fun lots of food and of course lots of laughter. (Lemons picked fresh from their side yard tree)

Joanne took a Stained Glass / Soldering course this past week and had an absolutely fun time making an awesome 8 inch sun catcher for the window. Now that she's had the course she may continue once we get home, thinking of making a stained glass/Mosaic end table for our patio.

We're busy organizing a Christmas morning Breakfast at our camp spot. There will be 8 of us for Breakfast ( @ 26c/80f ) so will not only be serving outside but also cooking outside as well. Later in the evening of Christmas Day 6 of us are heading over to the Painted Mountain Golf Resort for Christmas Dinner. Will share photos and stories next week on both these fun times.

Take care everyone and Joanne and I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and all the very best for the coming New Year.

Til next time

Joanne and Waine
