We got on a bus and went to Baden Baden this a.m. We drove through the Black Forest to get there which was very beautiful. Baden Baden is a spa town with geothermal springs where the very rich go to ski and be pampered. We walked through town which was beautifully decorated to their very lovely Xmas market. We walked their market, got our obligatory Gluwein with local mug and got back on the bus to the return to the ship. When we returned there was a "Kaffeklatsch" at a local family's home (multiple faimilies). We opted out of this and walked into the town of Speyer where we were docked. Lovely little town with a charming Xmas market. One more Gluwein and mug from Speyer, a bratwurst for Mike and back to the ship for dinner. Speyer lays claim to creating the pretzel so I was in search of their wonderful pretzels. Not a single one to be found in the Xmas market. Luckily I spotted a bakery on the Main Street and was able to get a pretzel. Pretty darn good! In the evening a local choral group came on board and sang Xmas carols and others songs. They were really great and it was a lot of fun.
