We were ready to go and drove to Jim & Karen’s place to pick them up for a trip to Mexico. We then stopped at Mike & Marian’s and noticed that Denny & Jackie had arrived and were riding with Mike & Marian.
You could tell that the gang of eight was in fine fettle for a day across the border. We parked together and all strolled toward the bridge while laughing and talking. The harassment had already begun as the guys picked on one another.
As usual it was Poncho’s Bar which was the first stop. They seated us in the back of the room but close enough to hear the music easily, while being able to continue the chatter among the group.
The cold drinks arrived and even our waiter was enjoying the jokes and teasing of one another. Usually, just one margarita is enough as they are quite strong. However, the effect of more than one is exponentially amazing, but I am not at liberty to name anyone who might have tested my theory.
We did a little shopping and then walked south on the street to a nice restaurant called “Tony’s” but we knew it for years as “Garcia’s”. We were given a round table for eight which was perfect. The food was perfect and quite tasty. Everyone seemed to enjoy the meal and we lingered for some time just content to be with good friends.
We walked back north as a strung out group and were soon back across the bridge and headed home.
It was another fine day spent in the company of people we care about. Life is Good!
