Heading west on I-70 near Grand Junction, CO

Into Utah

Pretty pile of rocks

Quickly through Arizona then into Nevada

Destination for the evening

Through beautiful south Utah

After a pleasant night in Grand Junction and a wholesome breakfast at the Village Inn, we were on the road 10AM sharp. A fine day to travel with temperatures in the 50s, and perfect road conditions.

Every time we drive over I-70 through Utah we are amazed by the beauty of this country, which is saying something after leaving Colorado. The scenes are breath taking.

We were in 4 states today (Colorado, Utah, Arizona, and Nevada). We stopped for the night at the Virgin River Hotel and Casino in Mesquite, NV. It was a bit windy, but 75 degrees in the evening. We are in the hot country now just the way Julie likes it.

Drove 431 miles in 7.5 hours. Not bad considering we stopped a number of times for coffee, gas, and supplies at Costco in St. George, Utah. We plan to stay in Mesquite for a day to look around.
