Moore's do Peru 2018 travel blog

Devided our gear so we had our small bag to take to the jungle lodge and were then collected for the airport at 10 am. Once dropped off we had a porter help us get all sorted with our boarding passes and luggage tags and placed in bag drop. He was a god send amongst the kaos but I'm not sure I tipped him enough.

Our flight was delayed by 20 min but no big deal and only an hour flight. Getting off the plane or was hot.

We were met outside by one of the staff and were added to the mini bus with other travelers. Made a note to all says try and be polite and considerate when traveling as some people really are not!

It was a 10 min drive to the office where we stored our main luggage and then back to the bus for a slow hour and half drive on bumpy roads to the port. We were give a snack basket with banana chips, Brazil nuts and banana.  We then boarded our powered long boat (covered large canoe) for the 2 hour ride to the lodge. On board we were given lunch I'd fried rice wrapped in banana leaves.

We arrived as it was dark, around 6, to a fantastic looking building all up on stilts. We were given a welcome and then off to our room that was further from the main building along a board walk, all around 2 meters off the ground. The room had 3 walls with the fourth open to the jungle and the ceiling open to a roof higher above. The bed had fly netting and the floor of the bathroom had gaps between the slats. It was all so very well done.

It was pretty warm and humid!

Dinner was at 7:15 with a full on spread of delicious food and we decided what activities were wanted to do the next day.

Back to our room and the fly nets had been pulled down around our bed. Set the alarm for an early start tomorrow as nature usually rises early.
