St. Moritz: Marina enjoying a glass of wine

St. Moritz: enjoying our cheese fondue!

Good morning. Today Marina and I went downstairs to the main dining room to enjoy their over-extensively stocked array of an English buffet breakfast. Marina excitedly jumped up and went for the salmon delicacy, and returned to the table in time to have her coffee and orange juice being put at her place. (pic)

Me? I wanted to do the breakfast buffet, with the addition of something I saw on the main menu.

“Avacado toast on sourdough”...... thanks to Mary Jo... this has become a real favorite way for me to begin my day. When the avocado toast arrived, it was positively overly perfect. They must have smashed two large avocados and piled all on a small piece of sourdough. The amount of avacado was enough for two pieces of sourdough, so I felt quite special endulging on this generously endowed toast. Thank you, Mary Jo, for introducing me to this very special breakfast! Being stuffed with avacado and berries, I felt I should do some serious walking.

When we left the hotel, we had to go to the Apple store to have them fix Marina’s billing details from a British card to a french card. The Apple store in this part of London is roughly one mile from the hotel. Not thinking I could walk that far, we took a cab. We finished everything we needed to do in Apple, and wanted to then proceeded (on foot this time) down Hanover street, past Hanover square the street now became Book, and went left on the beginning of New Bond to Old Bond Street. I so love walking down Bond street and looking in all the windows, particularly the Jewellery stores, where the low end average cost of a plainer piece of jewelry could be a minimum of $250,000!!! The highest price I saw this year was well over $1,000,000!! So sit up and I will now take you down new Bond, to old Bond, and you can see the jewels for yourself! (pic)

When we got back to the hotel after strolling and drooling on Bond Street, I was amazed that me, and my “capt. Bye” cane had walked one mile!

Once back in the room, we barely had time to shower and change for the theatre. Tonight we are seeing TINA. The story of Tina Turner. We decided to have our pre-theatre drink in the room, enjoying the bottle of Pommerol we ordered at last night’s dinner. (pic)

TINA was one of the best shows I have seen in recent years!!!! OMG! The sad story of all the abuse she endured, and with that VOICE, she made it thru everything at a very high price. In reality, she is now living in France, Ville Franche-sur-Mer (next to Beaulier-sur-mer), with her husband of 15 years younger than her! Etc.

After the show, we had dinner at one of my two favorite restaurants in London: St. Moritz, a Swiss fondue place on Wardour Street. (pic)

After stuffing ourselves with cheese fondue, roasties and salad, we came back to the RITZ and flopped into bed.

Normally we would be watching a movie to fall asleep to — but tonight we did not need the aid of that sleeping pill. Bon Nuit.
