A pretty quiet day today, which was just as well for us. Four of our group finished their tour today, and departed for the airport after breakfast. Two more were due to fly out during the afternoon, while the remaining six of us had a flight to Xi’an in the evening. So our day was focussed on flights and nothing much else.
Ray woke with little relief from the back spasm that bothered him for most of yesterday and Angela had a badly irritated throat. So we decided to take a walk to see if we could work out the spasm and find a pharmacy at the same time. Luckily, we walked in the right direction and after about 1.5 km we managed to find a convenience store with a pharmacy section in the back. After lots of sign language and some translation app work, we managed to buy what we needed. The 3km or so walk also helped with Ray’s back, so all in all, a good morning.
After a very agreeable lunch, we loaded up and set out for the airport. Two more of our group were heading home on an early afternoon flight, so we ended up being taken to the airport at the same time and then having to hang around for four hours until our evening flight. The flight itself was uneventful - always good - and our guide met us as scheduled. Transfer to the hotel was good, but by the time we got there everyone was well and truly wasted from our long day of doing not very much! Never mind, tomorrow will be plenty busy again.
