Ed & Marilyn 'The Happy Wanderers' travel blog

Pouring rain during the night woke us numerous times and I felt groggy all day. Marilyn did some shopping and I managed to accomplish a few chores while she was gone. My Honey did return in plenty of time to help make some soup for dinner.

We fixed a kettle of soup with spicy sausage, onions, potatoes, cabbage, Rotel tomatoes, and chicken broth. I have to admit that it was quite tasty. Marilyn popped some thick slices of garlic bread into the oven to make the soup even better.

Other than that we didn’t get much done today. I was unsuccessful in my attempt to take a nap. Marilyn did take advantage of the quiet time to read from her book.

The temperature dropped during the afternoon and I was forced to close the open window beside my chair. Over the next ten days we are going to have much cooler temps, even getting down into the 30’s and low 40’s for several nights. I think we will sleep with a blanket tonight.

Our time here in Missouri is growing shorter and we are looking forward to being back in the Rio Grande Valley for the winter. One of my cousins and her husband are planning to visit us in Texas and we are anticipating a great time with a trip to Mexico and to Padre Island on the agenda.
