I haven't been everywhere yet, but it's on my list travel blog

Adios Porto, a really magical old seaside fishing village well known for its Port.

It was lovely to have Lorna here to share my last day in this fun and pretty town. It was extremely hot today, at 28 degrees so, in readiness for our big hike and just catching up with each other’s news, we enjoyed a really casual day mooching around Porto as I showed Lorna all my favourite spots around town.

We first enjoyed the best breakfast of my trip so far in our lovely and slightly exotic guest house filled with statues, a pretty tiny dining room and outside garden area. Two types of quiche, fresh fruit, cappuccino’s.

We then walked through the Jewish area on Jane’s Cooke’s Tour of Porto, popped into a couple of cathedrals, checked out the souvenir shops, caught the funicular up to the top bridge and then walked across it.

By then it was 11.30 and time for a most enjoyable Port paired with a chocolate tasting at one of the most exclusive and oldest Port tasting estbishments, called Kopke.

We tried a 10 year old ruby and a white whilst watching a yacht race on the river and enjoying the well paired chocolates.

Before we knew it, lunchtime happened so we enjoyed our favourite jamon and queisera roll with a chilled glass of Rose.

And would you believe, it was then coffee time, so we wondered across the bridge and up the hill to a great little coffee place I just happen to know, after 5 days in Porto.

Finally, we jumped on our train for a couple of hours travelling to Caminha. Our hotel here overlooks the sea and again, though basic accommodation, very comfortable and we look forward to a rest day here tomorrow before finally starting our hike.

We enjoyed a steak (first proper meat I’ve eaten in a long time and it was an excellent one with pepper sauce) in a lovely little restaurant in the centre.

The town appears to be almost closed down for the winter so we were lucky to find the little restaurant for dinner, it looks a lovely seaside town however will have to wait until tomorrow to explore.
