Buonasera from Rome,
Yesterday we ended up walking over 22 km! It started with a walk through Trastevere. Then we made our way up the hill to Piazzale Giuseppe Garibaldi and enjoyed a great view of the city. We carried on along the path, then down the hill and finally ended up in Vatican City. While there, we figured out where we needed to go the next morning for our visit to The Vatican Museum. Then we headed back across the Tiber River stopping for lunch and a well deserved rest.
In the afternoon we ended up in Piazza del Popolo, climbed the stairs up to the Villa Borghese Park for a stroll, then back down to the Piazza before exploring some of the high end shopping streets. In the evening we headed back to Piazza Navona for dinner.
This morning we went to Vatican City where we saw both the Vatican Museum and the Sistine Chapel. Both were amazing and I’m really glad we were able to see them!
This is our last night in Rome. We’ve explored quite a bit of the city and we’ve had a really great time! We’ve also enjoyed the food, including a stop at a bakery this afternoon! Tomorrow we catch the train to Florence.
Ciao,
