Ed & Marilyn 'The Happy Wanderers' travel blog

The fireplace did a nice job of warming things inside of the RV again this morning. I had a tour of Cameron Cave scheduled for 11:00 AM. Normally that cave is closed from Labor Day through the winter until Memorial Day in the spring. That gives the bats a good place to hibernate during the winter. For the month of September the staff has allowed special groups to tour that cave and today I was leading one of those groups.

They arrived about 30 minutes late but we headed off as soon as they were ready. These were young people and quite excited about the possibility of seeing bats. Alas we did not see a single bat but that didn’t damper their enthusiasm and they all had a great time crawling through the tunnel and exploring a cave with only flashlights to help them find their way around. Of course they had an excellent guide. LOL

It was close to 1:00 PM when I returned to the RV for lunch and some relaxation. Marilyn was attending a WW meeting at 5:30 so we left at 5:00 and drove to the VFW hall where that meeting was taking place. I waited in the car with the windows down, enjoying the wonderful weather.

Marilyn & I had decided to pick up a pizza for dinner tonight and it was delicious. Life is Good!
